Heirloom-Introduced in 1947 by Ferry Morse, Snowball Y offers smooth, tight curds on deep 6-7” white heads that are very flavorful. Dwarf plants have erect outer leaves that offer good sun protection. Cauliflower is a good source of vitamins A and C and has a low fat content. Plant in sun. A leafy herb w/ a full-bodied spicy celery flavor. Unique, bicolored red & white stems are attractive in the garden or on the plate. Can be used fresh in soups or sauces. An early, heavy yielder w/exceptionally smooth stalks. Each stalk is tender, sweet & never stringy. Greatly improved variety, easy to grow & comes in 2 weeks earlier than most varieties. The self-branching stalks have a big celery crunch w/apple green tops that are 18-20” tall. It is more tolerant of less than ideal conditions than other varieties. Plant in sun/part shade. Chamomile leaves and flowers may be used fresh or dried and are best when picked the day they open. Flowers can be picked for several months. Use the leaves & lavender flowers to dress up soups & salads w/a slightly spicy garnish. Chives have a mild onion flavor & has tubular, grass-like, dk green leaves which grow in clumps. An extra-slow-bolting selection grown for its lvs. Often associated w/Mexican dishes, this strong scented herb grows out flat, toothed lvs for chopping into salsas & other preparations. Heirloom-Introduced from Armenia to Italy in the 1400’s, this attractive, crisp cuke stays sweet even when the fruit is large. This variety has thin skins w/dense flesh, few seeds, and a pleasant mild flavor. It is easily digestible–skin & all. It is heavily ribbed w/light green skin. This remains the most widely planted open pollinated slicing cuke in the U.S. Since 1970 the slender, refined “Marketmore look” has been the standard for slicing cucumbers in the North. The plant is a small endive technically of the French Trés Fine Maraîchère type, often referred to as "frisée" in the salad mix trade. Smooth but deeply cut, toothed pale green leaves. Full-size heads form a mass of tender blanched leaves at the heart for salad mix. Like all of these types, it can be sensitive to tipburn (particularly in hot weather) and requires an attentive grower. Mild flavor.

Known as 'Methi' to its native Southwest Asia. Widely cultivated for its vast medicinal & culinary uses. An all purpose plant.
