A dense, compact Castelfranco type. The attractive internal speckling intensifies in fall and is sometimes on wrapper leaves. Speckling and leaf shape can be variable, but it is reliably early and holds well in the field. It balances classic chicory bitterness with pleasant sweetness, especially in the fall. Great for mid-spring, summer, fall and winter harvest. Prefers full sun. (CICHORIUM intybus 'Giorgione').
