A historic rose grown since the 1500's. Upright, vigorous shrub. Tall arching stems hold clusters of old-fashioned showy, single coppery orange-red flowers w/ yellow reverse cover. Sometimes produces all yellow flowers. Strong sweet licorice fragrance. Size: 6-8' x 6-8'. Great for hedges. Will spread by sending up underground shoots. Blooms in flushes throughout the season with double, cupped creamy pink blooms with an apricot center. Each bloom contains an average of 120 ruffled petals and has a fruity fragrance with notes of apricot, apple, and quince. Compact, bushy with a moderately vigorous growth habit.
