Annual: CA native. Deer resistant. Lav.-blue, bell-shaped flowers during summer. Grows well in hot, dry conditions & attracts a variety of pollinators to the garden or meadow. Used similarly to buckwheat as a winter cover. Useful to vineyards or alongside other crop fields, where it is valued for its long, coiling flower clusters of nectar-rich flowers. Ht: 24-36". sun/pt shade. Low/mod. water. Tolertates poor, rocky or sandy soil. Z3.
