The most widely grown organic dill for fresh eating, flowers & seed heads. An early maturing variety, producing seed heads well ahead of others & right in time for pickling. The foliage is great sprinkled on potatoes, tomatoes, grilled salmon, spinach, green beans, cucumbers, squash, & lamb chops. Considered the best for seed production. Annual or Biennial. Shrub: Drought and coast tolerant. Fire retardant. Evergreen plant with willow-like leaves. A natural bush, but can be trained as a tree. Tolerant of many conditions-heat, wind, sun/shade and seaside conditions. Bears pinkish fruit and ornamental papery seed capsules. Height: 6-8 feet with little water, 15 feet with more water. Forms a dense rosette of pointed, chalky blue-gray, succulent leaves. Yellow flower heads are held in clusters atop thick, upright, showy, red stems.
