Orange Flame, Mountain Fire or Blazin' Glory

Perennial Succulent. Similar to the red blooming Senecio fulgens, and the yellow blooming Senecio cephalophorus, this Senecio has bright orange rosettes with thick rubbery bluish-green waxy foliage. Likes to be in full sun to part shade to full shade. Watering is minimal, drought tolerant. Looks good in rock gardens, pots, and containers. Can also be used as a houseplant. Houseplant: Hybrid of S. rowleyanus and S. articulatus, this rare and popular hybrid has gray green leaves that look like dolphins leaping off the plant! With proper care, it can send up bloom stalks with pompom-like clusters of tiny white flowers. Cannot tolerate frost/freezing temps. Drought tolerant. Water: moderate when top soil is dry. Soil: good drainage. For a full pod of “dolphins”, prune the stems regularly and replant the cuttings.
