Heirloom-This is one of the most tender & delicately flavored leaf lettuces. Easy to grow & quick to mature. It quickly produces a full sized, bt. grn open head w/slightly crinkled lvs. Withstands heat, drought, & lt. frost. Slow to bolt. It is a popular baby leaf variety for a bright green contrast to mixes. Resistant to downy mildew, lettuce drop, white mold, sclerotinia & tip burn. Full sun to part shade. Developed by George Raleigh, Cornell University & AAS Winner in 1963. Soft, buttery-textured leaves enclose a crisp, juicy, loose inner head of blanched, sweet-tasting leaves & the most nutritious of all lettuces. Forms a small 6" fan-shaped rosette, good for salads & lettuce wraps. A "cut & come again," so harvest outer leaves along the way. Sun/part shade. Very heat tolerant.
