Perennial: Deer resistant. Found in the cloud forests of Southern Mexico & Central America where it grows at elevations of up to 6,500 feet. Tall border plant w/nonstop showy blooms. Nice cut flower. Attracts butterflies & hummingbirds. Bloom time: winter-spring. Bloom color: magenta pink w/white bracts. Average size: 6' x 6' but can rarely grow 10' x 10' in the right conditions (keep it smaller by pruning it in summer). Exp.: sun/part shade. Water: mod./dry. USDA Z8.
