Shrub: Evergreen. Clay tolerant. Ideal for coastal plantings. Native to eastern Asia. Resembles boxwood with its small, narrow, deep-green leaves and its dwarf upright habit. Slow growing. Good border, specimen, low hedge or screen plant. Can take heavy pruning and be easily shaped. Produces small yellow insignificant flowers late spring/early summer that are vinegar-scented. Size: 1-2' x 1-2'. Exposure: sun/shade. Water: moderate. USDA Z6.
