Perennial: Deciduous. Deer resistant. Native to shady forested areas in Japan. The finely-toothed arching leaves emerge sunny yellow & retain their color. Clusters of tiny white flowers in summer are followed by purple fruit. The berries are adored by birds, but inedible by humans.
