An Italian escacole for winter & spring production. Produces beautiful & flavorful dark green heads with curly edges & are great in salad mixes. Has large, well developed heads with an elongated open crown that keep well. Can be eaten raw or cooked. Has a mildly bitter, green & nutty flavor. Has vitamins A, C, & K, calcium, phosphorus, iron, potassium, & copper. Very cold tolerant. Maturity: 60-70 days. (CICHORIUM endivia 'Ascolana')
